Job summary

City of East Point invites experienced electrical Lineman to join our Public Works team. You will install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground electrical lines, substations, and street lighting while adhering to safety standards.

The role requires a Journeyman Electric Lineman, a Georgia CDL, and several years of field experience. You will work outdoors in varied weather, climb poles, operate bucket and line trucks, and respond to outages to restore power.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or two years of technical coursework with 4–5 years experience.
• Journeyman Electric Lineman certification and valid Georgia CDL.
• Equivalent education/experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Construct and maintain overhead electrical lines and related equipment.
• Perform electrical building code inspections.
• Operate trenchers and backhoes for service line installation.
• Respond to power outages and weather-related service calls.
• Install and maintain streetlights and security lights.
• Lead crew training and assist journeymen.
