Job summary

St. Catherine of Siena Hospital, part of Catholic Health, is seeking a Lead EKG Technician to support the EKG department's daily operations in a structured acute-care setting.

The role requires performing diagnostic EKGs, communicating findings to physicians, and assisting with education, scheduling, and billing activities. Strong attention to detail and patient safety are essential for this position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of an EKG training program from an accredited school.
• Demonstrated competency in the recognition of cardiac arrhythmias.

Responsibilities

• Perform EKGs in accordance with established clinical standards and departmental procedures.
• Obtain high-quality diagnostic tracings while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy.
• Recognize cardiac arrhythmias and promptly communicate significant or abnormal findings to the appropriate physician or clinical staff.
• Maintain accurate and complete patient and test documentation.
• Assist with coordination of department scheduling and workflow.
• Support patient and staff education related to EKG procedures and department services.
• Assist with billing and other administrative functions as needed.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and a clean, organized work environment.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Follow all applicable hospital policies, procedures, and quality and safety standards.
