Job description

Join to apply for the Lead EHS Technicians (Field Based) role at ERM.

ERM is hiring motivated hands-on Lead EHS Technicians to support our key technology client onsite in Phoenix and Chandler, AZ. This is a full-time, split-schedule (3 days on, 4 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off), limited-term role with a duration of 12 months, extendable.

The ideal candidate will have general safety experience, preferably in manufacturing or high-tech environments, with knowledge of OSHA requirements, hazard recognition, Job Hazard Analysis, Emergency Response Plans, Risk Assessment processes, and Contractor Safety Management. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles, waste management, and chemical safety is also desirable.

The Lead EHS Technician will have supervisory experience, including coaching, training, leading direct reports, assessing work quality, and maintaining high safety standards. Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and hold staff accountable are essential.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage and update Daily 6s Safety Audit Log, monitor and correct issues, and track corrective actions.
  2. Maintain accurate records, analyze data, and prepare presentations using Microsoft Office tools.
  3. Provide weekly activity reports to EHS Managers and Senior Specialists.
  4. Support Safety Committee Meetings and Safety Walks.
  5. Assist with Emergency Action Plans and drills.
  6. Perform compliance and system audits for health, safety, and environmental standards.
  7. Assist with incident investigations upon request.
  8. Ensure proper use of PPE and organization of safety equipment.
  9. Escalate safety issues and provide feedback to improve safety practices.
  10. Provide safety training and assessments.
  11. Develop EHS procedures, plans, permits, and reports.
  12. Support project management efforts.
  13. Build collaborative relationships with ERM team members.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred).
  2. 3-5 years of EHS support experience.
  3. Knowledge of Six Sigma safety methods (preferred).
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  5. Certification or progress towards CIH or CSP/ASP is a plus.
  6. Understanding of regulatory compliance and reporting.
  7. Strong communication and organizational skills.
  8. Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
