Job summary

Village Media is seeking an Editor to launch and lead our Oshkosh footprint. You will drive editorial strategy, steer daily coverage, and mentor reporters, ensuring the digital town square remains the community’s trusted source of local information.

You’ll oversee coverage that reflects local culture and economy, uphold independence, and guide a team to produce fair, nonpartisan reporting while leveraging audience analytics for impactful storytelling.

Qualifications

• Proven newsroom leadership experience with fairness and impartiality.
• Unwavering commitment to independent, fact-based storytelling and ethical standards.
• Ability to mentor journalists and grow team skills.
• Strong understanding of Fox Valley culture and communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide editorial direction to reporters and shape coverage with breaking news, features, and high-impact reporting.
• Uphold factual accuracy and nonpartisan reporting while building trust in the digital town square.
• Shape coverage strategy using digital metrics and community feedback.
• Collaborate with Community Coordinator to highlight CARES initiatives.
