Job summary

RMI is seeking a Senior Editor with a journalistic background to lead editing, writing, and storytelling on energy, the energy transition, and climate. The role partners with program experts and organizational leaders to shape narratives and content strategy across RMI's communications portfolio.

You will translate complex technical analysis into accessible stories, mentor teammates, and help grow audience engagement while upholding editorial standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in journalism, communications, English, or related field.
• 8+ years of professional experience in journalism, editing, writing, or content strategy.
• Strong ability to translate technical analysis into engaging narratives.
• Experience developing thought leadership content and audience-focused strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead editing, writing, and storytelling across energy-focused content.
• Partner with experts to transform complex analyses into accessible narratives.
• Research, write, and edit original content about energy and the energy transition.
• Ensure high editorial standards, clarity, accessibility, and audience relevance.
