Job summary

Beacon in Los Angeles seeks a Senior Research Associate to collaborate with practice managers and associates on planning documents, presentations, and related analysis. You will provide technical and production support across projects, delivering high-quality statistical outputs and client-ready reports.

The ideal candidate has strong econometric and data analysis skills, experience with Stata, Excel, and Python, and is proficient in GIS tools.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in economics, statistics, data science, or related quantitative field with GIS coursework.
• Extensive experience with statistical software (Stata preferred) and Excel with advanced skills.
• Fluency with Python strongly desired.
• Ability to perform GIS analysis using ArcGIS or QGIS.
• Experience with regional economic model development, estimation, programming, calibration, validation, and documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience managing deliverables on rigorous deadlines and ability to prioritize workload.
• Demonstrated interest in public policy, data analysis, economic policy research and/or economic development

Responsibilities

• Produce planning documents, presentations, and related analysis with the practice managers and associates.
• Provide technical and production support for a broad range of projects.
• Communicate research findings to clients clearly via reports, tables, dashboards and slideshows.
• Support economic forecasting models’ development, estimation, validation, and documentation.
• Assist in developing technical documentation and efficient workflows for forecasting programs.
• Contribute to data administration policies and quality control of outputs.
• Support the management team in developing research frameworks and scalable processes.
• Engage in research activities related to national, state and regional economic forecasting.
