Job summary

Child Care Action Council in Washington, DC seeks an ECEAP Teacher to provide high-quality, developmentally appropriate early learning experiences and to lead the classroom team in implementing Creative Curriculum, Teaching Strategies GOLD, Second Step, and ECEAP Performance Standards with consistency and care.

You will maintain a safe, inclusive environment, build respectful relationships with children and families, and model professionalism, flexibility, and teamwork in daily interactions,

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education and two years of early childhood experience.
• Experience with ECEAP, Head Start, or state Pre‑K programs preferred.
• Must meet DCYF/ECEAP health, safety, and training requirements (TB test, CPR & First Aid, Food Handler’s Permit, background checks, immunizations).
• Knowledge of Creative Curriculum, Teaching Strategies GOLD, Second Step, ECEAP Performance Standards, DCYF licensing.
• Ability to plan, observe, assess, and communicate with families.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences reflecting children’s interests and individual goals.
• Use Creative Curriculum with fidelity and develop weekly lesson plans.
• Enter Teaching Strategies GOLD data accurately and on schedule.
• Deliver Second Step social‑emotional lessons consistently.
• Maintain accurate child assessment documentation and portfolios.
• Supervise children to ensure safety and positive behavior guidance.
• Build strong partnerships with families through regular communication and conferences.
• Collaborate with team to maintain routines and coordinated supports for children and families.
• Participate in staff meetings, coaching, and professional development to improve teaching practice.
