Job summary

South Central LAMP is seeking a Lead Teacher to join our Early Childhood Education team in South Los Angeles. The role is part-time with a 28-hour workweek, offering a supportive environment and opportunities to work closely with families and staff to deliver developmentally appropriate learning experiences.

You will lead classroom planning, implement curriculum, maintain records, and collaborate with teachers to support children aged birth to five.

Qualifications

• Valid California Child Development Permit – Teacher Permit or higher.
• Knowledge of child development principles; experience with birth to five.
• Experience in an ECE classroom or childcare setting.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teaching teams.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
• Commitment to a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment.
• Experience with CSPP, ECERS, CLASS, and DRDP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary classroom teacher and manage daily operation, supervision and learning environment.
• Develop and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities.
• Lead classroom experiences based on individual needs and cultural backgrounds.
• Provide active supervision and maintain a safe, healthy classroom.
• Observe and document developmental assessments and use results to plan lessons.
• Maintain positive relationships with families and staff and communicate progress.
• Collaborate with staff and participate in family engagement activities.
• Comply with CSPP requirements and licensing regulations.
