Job summary

Skagit Valley Family YMCA Laventure Early Learning Center in Mount Vernon, WA invites applicants for a Day shift role focusing on creating a positive environment for children aged 5-12, collaborating with families and staff. Responsibilities include supervising children, understanding developmental needs, being a positive role model, and maintaining safety and open communication with families.

Eligibility requires high school diploma or GED, 18+, experience with children, and COVID-19

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or a GED.
• Experience working with children aged 5–12.
• Child development knowledge and experience preferred.
• Must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

Responsibilities

• Develop a positive environment for children, parents, and staff.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the developmental needs of children and families.
• Be a positive role model and demonstrate good judgment, and abide by program rules.
• Supervise and assure proper safety for a group of children.
• Communicate with and maintain positive relationships with families.
