Job description

The Waldorf School of Pittsburgh is accepting applications for a Lead Early Childhood Teacher to join the faculty for the 2025–2026 school year. The early childhood program operates during the school hours of 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. Some after school work hours are required.

The Lead Teacher will hold a mixed age (ages 2 to 4) class of students with an assistant teacher for the school year. Lead Teachers also supervise the assistant teacher. Teachers work closely with parents/guardians. Lead teachers provide two parent-teacher conferences a year as well as three parent meetings. The Lead Teacher attends weekly early childhood faculty meetings and full faculty meetings.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Experience teaching in an early childhood classroom setting is required. Applicants who either completed or are in the process of completing their Waldorf teacher certification and hold a bachelor’s degree are preferred. Applicants must be committed to personal development and excellence in teaching, collaboration and professionalism among colleagues, devotion to a nurturing and loving classroom environment, and responsibility to families and the greater community. Federal, State, Child Abuse, and NSOR clearances are required upon hire. We are accepting applications until the position is filled.

Compensation:
Position is salaried. Benefits include health, dental, and vision, 90% tuition remission (except Little Friends), 100% discount on Extended Care program for enrolled children, school breaks and personal vacation days, and sick days.
