Job summary

Chelsea Piers Connecticut is hiring a Lead Early Childhood Teacher for CP Kids Early Learning Center in Stamford, CT. The role leads a classroom from infancy to age 5, creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where learning thrives through play.

You will design an age-appropriate curriculum, mentor staff, and communicate progress to families while supporting children’s developmental milestones within a nine-classroom program and athletic facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (Education or related field preferred).
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Lead or Assistant Teacher in an early childhood setting (or similar).
• Lead Teacher certification preferred.
• Experience working with children ages 3 months to 5 years old.
• Warm, patient, energetic, and nurturing personality.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a dynamic, creative, and age-appropriate curriculum.
• Lead and support Assistant Teachers, fostering a collaborative classroom environment.
• Engage with children throughout the day through developmentally appropriate play and structured activities.
• Maintain consistent, thoughtful communication with parents regarding each child’s development (verbal and written).
• Plan and lead daily gross motor activities to support physical development.
• Organize and manage daily classroom schedules and routines.
• Collaborate effectively with team members across the Early Learning Center.
• Document and share weekly evidence of learning (activities, projects, photos, etc.).

Chelsea Piers is seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Early Childhood Teacher to join our CP Kids Early Learning Center team. In this full-time role, you will lead a classroom of children from infant age to 5 years old, creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where learning comes to life through play.

Our CP Kids Daycare and Preschool offers a unique learning environment, featuring nine vibrant classrooms and access to world-class athletic facilities, creating unmatched opportunities for movement-based learning, exploration, and fun.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design and implement a dynamic, creative, and age-appropriate curriculum

Start Date: June 2026

Schedule: Full-Time; Monday-Friday; daycare hours are 7:30am-6:00pm – you will work five 8-hour shifts within this time frame

Compensation: Starting at $40,000 per year
