Job summary

RISE is an innovative human services network originally established in 1987 for moving individuals living in institutions into family settings. We are hiring a full-time Lead Direct Support Professional in our Day Program Center located in Tucson, AZ.

The Lead DSP works with people who have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, performing supervisory, administrative, transportation, and direct-care duties within the day program setting.

Qualifications

• A desire, interest, and experience in working with people with disabilities or special needs.
• Ability to physically assist people as needed, including lifting and providing support.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong multi-tasking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision.
• Detail-oriented and able to abide by state and organizational rules.
• Specific language abilities may be required beyond English.

Position Overview

RISE is an innovative human services network originally established in 1987 for the purpose of moving individuals living in institutions into family settings. Since that time, services have grown to support children, adults, and families with a variety of needs across multiple states that include residential settings, day programs, employment assistance, managed care, and home and community based services. We are hiring a full‑time Lead Direct Support Professional in our Day Program Center located in Tucson, AZ.

The Lead Direct Support Professional (DTA Program Team Lead DSP) works with people who have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. The role includes program supervisory, administrative, transportation responsibilities, and direct‑care duties in a day program center setting.

Qualifications

• A desire, interest, and experience in working with people with disabilities or special needs.
• Ability to physically assist people as needed, which may include lifting and/or providing physical support with or without assistance from another person, and train staff in these supports.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong multi‑tasking, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Self‑starter capable of working with minimal supervision.
• Detail‑oriented and able to work within and abide by state and organizational rules and policies.
• Specific language abilities (other than English) may be required to meet the needs of people/families receiving support and demonstrate respect for cultural differences.

Additional Candidacy Requirements

• Must be over 21 years old to drive a RISE vehicle with a valid Arizona driver’s license and meet driver requirements as specified by the RISE Insurance Agency.
• Must be able to complete a successful background check, driving record check, and obtain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
