Job summary

Ovation is seeking a Lead Driver who combines excellent driving skills with transportation coordination to support residents at Ovation Heartwood Preserve in Omaha, NE.

The role involves scheduling drivers, coordinating requests, assigning routes, and ensuring daily transportation runs smoothly while maintaining safety, records, and friendly, professional service for residents and families.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 25 years of age.
• Must have a valid Nebraska driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• CPR/BLS certification required during employment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
• Ability to communicate tactfully with residents, families, staff and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily transportation schedules for resident appointments and activities.
• Assist with scheduling and assigning driving routes based on resident needs and driver availability.
• Monitor operations and adjust schedules for changes or urgent requests.
• Operate assigned vehicles safely and maintain cleanliness.
• Maintain accurate trip logs and vehicle maintenance records.
• Respond to accidents or emergencies and provide first aid until responders arrive.
• Develop good working rapport with other departments to ensure uninterrupted daily activities.
• Report accidents or unsafe conditions immediately.
