Job summary

Winebow is seeking a delivery driver to operate company trucks and support daily shipping, receiving, and customer service. This role requires safe operation, adherence to DOT/OSHA safety rules, and the ability to work beyond 40 hours when needed.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma, a valid CDL-B (NJ/NY/IL), and at least one year of driving experience. Training will cover routes, safety protocols, and paperwork, with a strong emphasis on customer service.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license; CDL-B required in NJ/NY/IL.
• At least 1 year of truck driving experience.
• Ability to operate and maintain equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain equipment safely at all times.
• Assist manager in ensuring drivers follow policies and procedures.
• Check paperwork and returns for accuracy and completion.
• Maintain vehicles and adhere to maintenance schedules.
• Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup.
• Train new drivers on routes, paperwork, safety protocol, and related info.
• Relay messages from manager to drivers and report issues promptly.
• Assist in annual driver performance evaluations.

The starting salary range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00 per hour.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Ability to operate and maintain equipment in a safe manner at all times.
• Assist the manager in ensuring all drivers are following proper company policies & procedures.
• Check all paperwork and returns to verify correctness.
• Ensure all vehicles are being maintained properly and Preventative Maintenance schedules are adhered to.
• Assist in training new drivers of routes, paperwork, safety protocol, and any other pertinent information as assigned by manager.
• Relay all messages from the manager to the drivers as needed.
• Report any route, equipment, or driver problems to the manager timely and as they occur.
• Assist the manager in preparing annual performance evaluations on other drivers.
• Operate company owned and/or leased trucks on various routes to facilitate shipping, receiving, delivery, and/or pickup for smooth day to day operations of Winebow products.
• Perform all required “user maintenance” and complete required reports to the manager on time.
• Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations.
• Operate all Material Handling Equipment safely.
• Maintain all required certifications required by company safety programs under DOT and OSHA.
• Maintain and protect all property entrusted in excellent condition
• Arrives to work, meetings, appointments and other work-related functions on time and as scheduled.
• Meets agreed upon goals and objectives effectively and in a timely manner.
• Ability to work more than 40 hours per week.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

• Follows all safety policies and procedures; communicate hazards and/or suggest improvements to Manager
• Other duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS

Prolonged sitting, driving, ability to work in severe weather conditions; both heat and cold, constant travel by automobile

EQUIPMENT/MACHINERY USED

Driver; Pallet jack, forklift, hand truck, office equipment (including computer/tablet, printer, photocopier etc.), telephone

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Manual dexterity, visual acuity, reaching, bending, and lifting and moving up to 50 lbs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma/GED
• Valid Driver’s License. CDL-B required in NJ/NY/IL
• Minimum of one-year experience as truck driver
• Ability to operate and maintain equipment in a safe manner at all times
