Qualifications

Job description

The ideal candidate must have strong skills in Environmental soil sampling, groundwater sampling, well installation and abandonment. Performing these tasks in a safe manner is a must and a successful candidate will need to demonstrate their knowledge and ability to conduct drilling operations safely. This position will be responsible for conducting drilling and geoprobe operations on job sites.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform drilling services and well installations by operating drilling equipment to bore exploratory vertical holes into the earth to evaluate soil type and obtain intact soil and groundwater samples to evaluate subsurface conditions Proficient at Direct Push and HAS Drilling and setting wells with HSA, Soil and groundwater sampling
  • Travel to remote locations throughout Florida and southeast USA in support of project work
  • Demonstrate positive attitude, enthusiasm, initiative, and strong organizational abilities
  • Safely execute drilling activities according to Action’s Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, OSHA code of federal regulations
  • Inspect drill rigs and associated equipment
  • Work with Engineers, Geologists, and Environmental Scientists to obtain soil and groundwater samples to evaluate subsurface conditions
  • Manage field assistants
  • Operate miscellaneous equipment (e.g. water / steam pressure washers, cement pumps)
  • Manage logistics for Action mobilization, operation, and demobilization
  • Perform manual labor by assembling and disassembling equipment
  • Maintains an accurate drill log
  • Ensure all equipment is accounted for daily
  • Ensure sufficient supplies are gathered for the day
  • Maintenance and care of all assigned equipment
  • Completes all necessary paperwork
  • Ensure the Company vehicle is kept clean and orderly
  • Active participation in all safety/tailgate meetings
  • Additional duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Water Well Contractor License required
  • Proficient at use of computers and Microsoft Office Products
  • 5+ years of experience operating a drill rig/geoprobe required
  • Strong skills in soil sampling, groundwater sampling, well installation and abandonment required
  • Proficient at Drilling and setting wells with HSA, Soil and groundwater sampling
  • Safety conscious work ethic required
  • Ability to travel out of town occasionally
  • Class A or B driver’s license required, Class A preferred
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Must be detail oriented
  • 40 hour OSHA and MSHA new miner training preferred
  • TWIC Port ID and MICCS cards preferred
  • Ability to Read and Write, as well as ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check is required
