Job summary

AskBio Inc. is seeking a senior scientist to lead initiatives optimizing DNA manufacturability and quality for rAAV production. The role focuses on rational design of DNA constructs that support scalable manufacturing and regulatory readiness.

The candidate will guide process understanding by connecting DNA design to performance, author development documents, and foster scientific excellence across teams in Research Triangle Park and beyond.

Qualifications

• PhD with 5+ years of relevant work experience (post-doc acceptable) or MS with 10+ years of relevant work experience.
• Expertise in viral gene therapy, including recombinant AAV systems.
• Strong understanding of molecular attributes influencing DNA replication in bacteria and rAAV production in mammalian culture.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, planning, data analysis and record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Independently design and execute projects to improve DNA manufacturability and quality.
• Rationally design and test DNA constructs to increase DNA and rAAV productivity and quality.
• Lead development of new methodologies for DNA production.
• Collaborate with CMDO and regulatory teams on DNA manufacturing strategies.
• Lead investigations of DNA purification and analytical characterization.
• Present data in internal and external forums; author technical documents and regulatory submissions.
