Position Title: Lead Distribution & Logistics Specialist

Position Summary / Career Interest

Lead Specialist, Distribution and Logistics, responsible for manual or automated tasks related to receipt, storage, and shipment of products at the local level. Tasks include receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transportation, storage, and delivery, ensuring the efficient flow of products from request to receipt from vendors.

  • Point of Use Delivery
  • Logistical Operations
  • Other areas as assigned

This position manages up to 6 specialists within the Distribution & Logistics function and reports to the Manager, Distribution and Logistics. It requires cross-departmental collaboration, initiative, interpersonal skills, and the ability to meet productivity and quality standards.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
  • Training new employees on procedures.
  • Ensuring safety, productivity, and quality standards are met.
  • Coordinating housekeeping and inventory control.
  • Working with minimal supervision and making decisions within guidelines.
  • Providing coaching and feedback; assisting in annual evaluations.
  • Applying departmental policies to various assignments.
  • Implementing new processes and skills effectively.
  • Following SOPs for requisitions, order processing, quality checks, freight sorting, packing, loading, receiving, put-away, replenishment, and order preparation.
  • Processing requisitions for tissue, implants, supplies, ensuring system compliance.
  • Ensuring smooth flow of products from requisition to delivery to internal and external customers.
  • Participating in projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Working in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment with limited supervision.
  • Cross-training in multiple areas of Distribution and Logistics.
  • Using Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
  • Working weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Performing technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
Required Education and Experience
  • High School Graduate
  • 3+ years of experience in a fast-paced environment, including customer service and distribution.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Some college courses related to the field.
  • 1+ years of Lean experience.
  • 1+ years of healthcare environment experience.
Knowledge Requirements
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic organization.
  • Proficiency in departmental and system training.
  • Interpersonal, organizational, and follow-up skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
