Job summary

Beacon Specialized Living is seeking a Lead Direct Support Professional to provide direct support and assume leadership within the home, mentoring staff and guiding day-to-day operations to ensure high-quality, person-centered care.

You will lead by example in coaching DSPs, support daily living skills, and help implement plans and documentation while ensuring a safe, respectful environment for residents.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• GED or High School Diploma required.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Compassionate, dependable and team-oriented.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example, coaching and supporting Direct Support Professionals.
• Assist with daily living skills, personal care, and community engagement.
• Ensure person-centered plans, behavior plans, and documentation are followed accurately.
• Support day-to-day operations of the home in partnership with leadership.
• Administer medications and maintain proper documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment.
• Transport individuals to appointments and advocate for their needs.
• Support individuals with budgeting, household routines, and independence goals.
• Complete required documentation including progress notes, incident reports, and daily logs.
• Communicate effectively with team members and provide clear shift hand-offs.
