Job summary

Platinum Communities seeks a Dietary Manager to lead the kitchen and dining services in our assisted living community. You will supervise dietary staff, plan menus, control inventory, and ensure compliance with DHS 83 and 89 and state food-safety regulations while delivering resident-focused service.

The role emphasizes clean, efficient operation, collaboration with activities staff for events, and training of staff in safe food handling and dietary modification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; culinary or hospitality certification preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of food service experience with at least 1 year in supervisory or managerial role.
• Knowledge of modified diets and general nutrition.
• SERV Safe certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Experience in assisted living/long-term care is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily kitchen and meal service operations for residents and tenants.
• Supervise dietary staff including cooks and dietary aides, ensuring scheduling and coverage.
• Act as lead cook; assist with meal preparation and service.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas per health codes.
• Maintain and implement kitchen protocols in compliance with DHS 83 & 89 and state/local food safety regulations.
• Support a dignified, respectful, and caring atmosphere with residents, families, and staff.
• Plan and implement nutritionally balanced menus; accommodate modified diets.
• Manage inventory and ordering; FIFO storage and cost control.
• Collaborate with Activity Directors for events and coordinated facility planning.
