Summary:

Are you passionate about creating delightful dining experiences? The Village at Germantown is seeking a dedicated individual for the position of Lead Dietary Aide in our Dining Services department. Under the direct supervision of the HC Dining Manager, this role involves courteously and professionally preparing and serving meals to residents and guests in the dining rooms. Be a key player in our community's public relations efforts through direct interaction with residents and guests.

Accountabilities:

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for food preparation, portion control, and maintaining cleanliness in work areas.
  • Ensure the final product aligns with menu and diet preferences, adhering to sanitary policies.
  • Consistently project positive, cooperative behaviors to residents, family members, visitors, and team members.
  • Assist with orientation and training of new staff.
  • Perform pre-opening and closing checklist duties as assigned.
  • Set tables, take orders, and provide service in all dining venues.
  • Maintain safe and sanitary work areas, upholding personal hygiene and uniform guidelines.
  • Assist with dishwashing, distribution of clean china, and inventory management.
  • Complete assigned cleaning tasks before the end of the shift.
  • Uphold facility and department standards for cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Assist with printing tray tickets, menus, and interdepartmental communications.


Qualifications:

  • Must read, write, and follow written/verbal directions.
  • Positive and cooperative attitude towards residents, families, and associates.
  • Regular attendance is a must.
  • Compliance with local health regulations.
  • Capability to perform essential job functions with/without reasonable accommodations.


Special Demands:

  • Strong positive attitude toward customer service and a genuine interest in geriatric care.
  • Uphold the philosophy of the community.
  • Understanding and compliance with residents' rights and promotion of positive relationships.


Mental & Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Bending, twisting, reaching, fine-hand coordination, and pushing/pulling required.
  • Distinguish smells and temperatures.
  • Lift and carry 40 lbs or more.
  • Adaptability in a kitchen environment with noise, interruptions, and multitasking.


Job’s Normal Work Environment:

  • Potential physical risks include cuts, burns, and falls.
  • No radios, cell phones, or pagers allowed.


Type of Equipment Typically Used in this Job:

  • Advanced applications of manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination necessary for basic kitchen equipment.


Problem Solving Abilities:

  • Ability to handle routine problems.
  • Know when to refer problems to a supervisor.
