Job summary

Performance Foodservice in Leander, Texas is seeking a Lead Diesel Technician for the 3rd shift (Sunday – Thursday, 10pm–6:30am). The role demands mastery in fleet diesel maintenance, independence, and mentoring others while working under the manager.

You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose issues with basic vehicle diagnostics, document work orders in the Enterprise Asset Management system, inspect brakes and steering, and handle routine oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of practical experience with fleet diesel equipment.
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Experience with preventative maintenance and diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Complete preventative maintenance and standard component inspections/ repairs of fleet diesel equipment.
• Using PFG tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Identifies root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required.
• Complete and perform quality maintenance on minor repairs of fleet diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units).
• Complete thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through the online Enterprise Asset Management system.
• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition.
• Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery. Adjust and replace brakes, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
