Job summary

LiquidPower Specialty Products Inc. is looking for a Lead Diesel Mechanic to provide maintenance support at the Chickasha, Oklahoma terminal. In this role, you will supervise maintenance technicians and ensure that maintenance activities adhere to company standards.

The ideal candidate will have over 3 years of hands-on experience with tank trailers and related systems, as well as strong skills in diagnostic software and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years direct, hands-on experience working on tank trailers, van trailers, flatbed trailers, and all related parts, systems.
  • Direct, hands-on experience as a commercial Class 8 tractor mechanic.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure maintenance and non-maintenance activities for assigned terminals and locations are completed according to the shop schedule.
  • Inspect work performed by LSPT Maintenance Technicians and third-party maintenance shops.
  • Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all company equipment as needed.
  • Complete preventive maintenance on all equipment and prove trailers as scheduled.
  • Maintain maintenance logs according to requirements.
  • Complete all work in a safe, effective, and timely manner.
  • Effectively train assigned technicians and third-party maintenance personnel.

Skills

Proficient with PC and Windows operating systems
Proficient using Cummins Insite, Bendix, Meritor, or equivalent diagnostic software
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Proficient using Paccar ESA, DAVIE4, or similar diagnostic equipment
Welding experience

Education

Associate degree in Automotive Technology or related field or high school diploma

Job description

Summary:

The Lead Diesel Mechanic will provide maintenance support and direction to the Chickasha, Oklahoma terminal. Direct and supervise LSPT Maintenance Technicians and third‑party maintenance shops to ensure maintenance activities are completed according to shop schedule. Perform maintenance activities as needed/required. Work under the direction of the Fleet Maintenance Manager to ensure LSPT equipment is properly maintained and operating safely. This position is a safety sensitive position.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure maintenance and non‑maintenance activities for assigned terminals and locations are completed according to the shop schedule
  • Inspect work performed by LSPT Maintenance Technicians and third‑party maintenance shops to ensure work is performed according to LSPT procedures and provide feedback regarding deficiencies, if applicable
  • Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all company equipment as needed/required
  • Complete preventive maintenance on all equipment and prove trailers as scheduled
  • Maintain maintenance logs according to requirements
  • Complete all work in a safe, effective, and timely manner consistent with company safety policies and performance standards
  • Effectively train assigned technicians and third‑party maintenance personnel
  • Other duties as required by direct supervisor or other terminal management.

Education & Experience:
  • 3+ years direct, hands‑on experience working on tank trailers, van trailers, flatbed trailers and all related parts, systems, etc.
  • Associate degree in Automotive Technology or related field or high school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years direct, hands‑on experience as a commercial Class 8 tractor mechanic.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current CDL with tanker and hazardous materials endorsements

Other requirements include: the use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and climb or balance. Team member must possess a high degree of attention and considerable dexterity. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

JOB SPECIFIC PHYSICAL TESTS: Lifts and carries 50 pounds for 5 feet frequently, pushing/pulling a maximum force of 75 pounds; safe lifting criteria, floor to knuckle 50 pounds, floor to chest 50 pounds.
