Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Lead DevSecOps Engineer to support a government customer in Gaithersburg, MD. The role is hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 remote) for those within commuting distance, focusing on cloud and platform engineering that impacts millions of air travelers.

The candidate will lead CI/CD, Kubernetes, and security tooling efforts, with DoD 8570 IAT II scope, and require strong AWS/Linux/Bash/Python expertise. Competitive benefits and security clearances may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline; 4+ years experience; or equivalent experience.
• Security+ CE, CySA+, or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.
• Hands-on AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Linux admin, and automation with Bash and Python.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
• Manage Kubernetes clusters, Docker workloads, and Terraform in AWS.
• Integrate DevSecOps with security scanning, SBOM generation, and artifact management.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and ops using Bash/Python.
• Collaborate with teams to improve reliability, velocity, and developer experience.
