Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to strengthen electronic trading platforms, focusing on FIX connectivity, Python automation, and Linux troubleshooting. The role blends hands-on coding with incident response and observability work in a high-stakes trading environment.

You will collaborate across trading, operations, and engineering to ensure stable order flow, rapid incident response, and secure, scalable deployments, while promoting AI-assisted practices and secure coding

Qualifications

• Formal software engineering training or certification with 5+ years of experience.
• Strong in programming languages and tools (Python, C++, Linux, Grafana).
• Experience in DevOps, production support, SRE, or mission-critical apps.
• Understanding of FIX protocol and trading systems.
• Solid Linux troubleshooting: logs, diagnostics, resources.
• Hands-on AWS and IaC (Terraform); familiarity with Atlas and Copilot.
• Collaborates across trading, operations, and engineering; communicates under pressure.
• Automation and CD proficiency; secure, scalable delivery.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and secure usage guidance.
• Awareness of responsible AI practices in engineering workflows.
• Proficiency across software applications and relevant disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Develops creative software solutions and tackles complex technical problems.
• Provides daily production support for electronic trading platforms and FIX sessions.
• Monitors health with Grafana dashboards to improve latency, errors, throughput, availability.
• Leads incident triage, restoration, and post-incident reviews with stakeholders.
• Performs root-cause analysis and implements durable remediation.
• Writes secure production code; uses Python for health checks and automation.
• Promotes AI-assisted engineering practices with standardized validation.
• Uses SDLC tools and automation capabilities to improve deployment.
• Troubleshoots Linux-based systems using logs and network checks.
• Collaborates with teams to investigate complex issues in trading components (C++).
• Contributes to team culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect.
