Job summary

ICE Mortgage Data, a business of Intercontinental Exchange, Inc., seeks a Lead Developer, Automation to lead automation frameworks for AI-based end-to-end tooling across hybrid on-premises and cloud systems, while performing hands-on SDET work.

You will mentor teams, design AI-based testing, and coordinate testing with development and QA to translate requirements into robust test strategies and scalable CI pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years leading automation frameworks for UI and non-UI systems, 5+ years with Playwright and Cypress.
• 8+ years software design, development, testing, and deployment, including Java or C++ backend development with sockets.
• 4+ years with Linux/Unix (Red Hat preferred) and Docker.
• 3+ years setting up CI pipelines (Jenkins/GitLab) and CI/CD tooling; 3+ years automating non-UI systems like GraphQL, API, microservices, and gRPC.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support AI-based automation frameworks and CI pipelines for multiple projects, covering UI and non-UI use cases.
• Evaluate technical solutions for hybrid on-premises/cloud architectures; design and maintain automated UI test scripts using Playwright.
• Build AI-based testing frameworks for data accuracy, integrity, and performance with strong SQL/DBMS foundation.
• Mentor and lead automation teams; coordinate test execution and train users; partner with development and QA teams on test strategy.
• Ensure automated tests are robust, reliable, and scalable; perform code reviews and troubleshoot issues.
• Drive process improvements across the automation lifecycle within Agile development.

ICE Mortgage Data, a business of Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (ICE), is hiring a Lead Developer, Automation for a platform team building AI based end to end automation tooling across hybrid on premises and cloud systems. The role combines automation framework leadership with hands on SDET work, including web-based UI automation using AI, DB validation automation and partners with Systems Analysts, Development, and QA to translate business and system requirements into test scenarios, coordinate test execution, and support users.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support AI based automation frameworks and CI pipelines for multiple projects, covering both UI and non-UI use cases.
• Evaluate technical solutions for hybrid on premises/cloud and multi tiered architectures (AI, DB, Python, C++, Java, JavaScript), and design and maintain automated UI test scripts using Playwright.
• Build AI based testing frameworks for data accuracy, integrity, and performance using a strong SQL and DBMS foundation.
• Mentor and lead teams across established automation frameworks, coordinate test execution, and train and support users; partner with development and QA teams on test strategy.
• Ensure automated tests are robust, reliable, and scalable; perform code reviews with constructive feedback; troubleshoot software and hardware configuration issues.
• Drive process improvements across the automation lifecycle within iterative and Agile development, including scripting repetitive tasks.

Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years leading and setting up automation frameworks for UI and non UI systems, including 5+ years hands on with tools such as Playwright, and Cypress.
• 8+ years of software design, development, testing, and deployment experience, including Java or C++ backend development with socket TCP messaging; working knowledge of JavaScript.
• 5+ years supporting and improving existing automation frameworks.
• 4+ years with Linux/Unix (Red Hat preferred) and Docker.
• 3+ years setting up CI pipelines (Jenkins/GitLab) and CI/CD tooling generally; 3+ years automating non UI systems such as GraphQL, API, microservices, and gRPC.
• Strong problem solving, attention to detail, and communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.js.
• Experience with mortgage or other financial applications.
• Experience writing unit tests using JUnit.
• Knowledge of AWS and Splunk.
• Experience supporting production changes, UAT testing, and debugging production issues.
• Innovative and results driven, with strong teamwork and a practical focus on operational excellence: comfortable managing tight schedules, multiple priorities, and continuous process improvement.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
