Job summary

AEP Service Corporation is seeking a Detection Engineer to design, develop, and deploy high-fidelity security detections across SIEM, EDR, NDR, cloud, and identity environments. You will translate threat intelligence into actionable content, validate detections with threat hunting and incident response teams, and continuously improve alerting and coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or associate degree with 2 years relevant experience in IT security or related field.
• Minimum 4+ years IT-related experience or 2+ years security-specific experience.
• Ability to obtain a government security clearance at minimum Secret level.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, validate, and deploy high-fidelity detections across SIEM, EDR, NDR, cloud, and identity platforms.
• Translate threat intel and hunter findings into actionable detection content.
• Develop and maintain detection rules, analytics, and automated alerting.
• Map detections to MITRE ATT&CK framework and improve visibility across attack lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Threat Hunting, Incident Response, and Security Operations teams.
• Automate detection workflows and on-boarding of new data sources.
