Our client is a Northwest Minneapolis metro steel fabrication company seeking a Lead Detailer with master-level Tekla Structures skills. You will lead, mentor, and review complex 3D models while coordinating with engineering, production, and field teams to deliver high‑quality drawings.

The role requires 5+ years detailing experience and advanced Tekla proficiency. Relocation assistance is available; sponsorship is not.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional steel or miscellaneous metals detailing experience required.
• Advanced/expert Tekla Structures experience required.
• Significant experience detailing miscellaneous metals and fabricated steel products.
• Strong understanding of fabrication, constructability, and installation/erection practices required.
• Knowledge of AISC, OSHA, IBC, and AWS standards required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the detailing team.
• Serve as Tekla Structures subject‑matter expert for the team.
• Build and review complex 3D models using Tekla.
• Produce and review submittal, fabrication, and erection drawings.
• Detail miscellaneous metals including stairs, rails, and custom components.
• Review drawings for accuracy, constructability, and fabrication efficiency.
• Resolve complex modeling, shop, and field issues.
• Coordinate with Engineering, PM, Production, and field teams.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Improve detailing standards, Tekla workflows, and team best practices.
• Promote continuous learning, collaboration, and accountability.

This hands‑on leadership role requires master‑level proficiency in Tekla Structures and extensive experience detailing miscellaneous metals and fabricated steel products.
