Job description

Role: Lead Desktop Engineer in New York, NY

Responsibilities:

1. macOS Endpoint Management: Lead lifecycle and configuration management of Apple devices, focusing on standardization, performance, and scalability.
2. JAMF Pro Ownership: Architect, deploy, and manage JAMF Pro environments, including smart groups, policies, profiles, and automation workflows.
3. Automation & Scripting: Develop scripts in Bash, Python, or AppleScript for provisioning, patching, and monitoring.
4. Security & Compliance: Enforce standards, encryption, and compliance with benchmarks like CIS and NIST; support MDM and zero-trust models.
5. Cross-Platform Integration: Collaborate with Windows and cloud engineers for seamless integration with Azure AD, Intune, M365.
6. Support & Escalation: Serve as final escalation point for macOS issues, perform RCA and resolution planning.
7. Application Packaging & Deployment: Manage packaging, version control, and deployment of Mac software.
8. Documentation & Mentorship: Maintain documentation and mentor junior staff.
9. Project Leadership: Lead OS upgrades, deployment rollouts, security efforts, and MDM transformations.

Requirements:

• 7+ years enterprise IT experience, with 5+ years on macOS and endpoint management.
• Extensive JAMF Pro expertise; JAMF 300+ certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of macOS internals, ABM/DEP, VPP, MDM/APNs.
• Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or AppleScript.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and endpoint policies.
• Knowledge of security tools, encryption, and monitoring.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Preferred: Experience in media, broadcast, or post-production environments.
• Bonus: Experience with Microsoft Intune, ITIL foundation.
