Job summary

CMTS, LLC is seeking a Design Manager – A/E in Los Angeles to lead architectural and engineering design for major educational facilities programs. The role requires coordinating with district staff, architects, and consultants to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget, while meeting district standards.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in facilities design management, strong leadership, and a track record of delivering complex capital projects in an educational context.

Qualifications

• Eight years of full-time experience managing facilities design or capital projects.
• At least four years in design/planning/construction of educational facilities.
• Strong knowledge of design management, budgeting, scheduling, and contracts.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and cross-functional coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the architectural and engineering design process for multiple capital projects.
• Act as liaison between the District, architects, consultants and stakeholders.
• Ensure designs meet program requirements, budgets, and district standards.
• Develop and implement the design review process to meet objectives and budgets.
• Provide direction to architects on goals, site requirements, and schedules.
