Job Description Summary
The Lead Design Engineer position is a mid-career 'hardware owning' engineer reporting to an Engineering Manager within the Aerospace Engineering Division's Production Technologies team. As a hardware owner, you will own all engineering functions related to the production of assigned Commercial, Aero-derivative High pressure Turbine Airfoils.
In this role, you will be on the front lines of a new organization that is dedicated to improving the producibility of HPT airfoils, enhancing the Engineering-Supply chain relationship, while using SQDC to dramatically improve the health of the supply chain and product to enable the business to fulfill our customers' expectations.
Examples of specific tasks you will be responsible for are: producibility design changes, ongoing manufacturing support, and strategic improvements across Castings, Machining, and Coatings for turbine airfoils.
