Job summary

FN America, LLC, headquartered in Columbia, SC, seeks a Lead Design Engineer to drive product development, perform evaluations, and establish technical data packages for new and existing products. You will guide and mentor engineers, plan tests, and create execution strategies with cost/time considerations.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred) and at least six years in design engineering, with expertise in firearm processing technologies and CAD/analysis tools.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; M.S. preferred.
  • Six years of experience in a design engineering role required.
  • Master's degree preferred for advanced design responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to PDP by developing new product platforms and derivatives.
  • Plan, conduct and document hands-on product testing.
  • Create execution strategies and manage milestones with a engineering team.
  • Collaborate across departments and mentor junior engineers.
  • Develop and implement design improvements.
  • Handle cost/time/work for assigned tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
