Job summary

Froehlich's in Three Oaks, MI is seeking a full-time Lead Deli Worker to lead daily deli operations, train staff, and ensure top-tier customer service. You will manage order fulfillment, oversee product freshness, and help drive sales while maintaining food safety standards.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee deli operations, ensure product freshness, schedule staff, and fulfill orders.
• Interact with customers, explain products, prepare/wrap/bag items accurately.
• Offer samples and upsell additional products to increase sales.
• Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are followed by the team.
• Coach team members, train as needed, and balance staffing levels.
• Rotate products to maximize freshness and minimize waste.

LEAD DELI WORKER QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to frequently lift 25 lbs. and occasionally lift 60 lbs.
• Ability to read, write, follow instructions, and perform simple math calculations
• Solid problem-solving skills
• Schedule flexibility for working evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed

Additional Criteria (not required):

• ServSafe certification
• High school degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Team spirit and strong collaboration/interpersonal skills

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Our Lead Deli Worker oversees the vital aspects of our deli - including product freshness, scheduling, and order fulfillment - to keep customers happy and the day-to-day running smoothly. You'll tackle a wide variety of responsibilities, including (but not limited to):

• Professionally interacting with customers, informing them about our products, and accurately preparing/wrapping/bagging ordered items
• Handing out samples and recommending additional products to increase sales
• Making sure all activities (yours and your team's) comply with food safety and sanitation standards
• Cashing out customers and using our point-of-sale system
• Coaching team members, providing training as needed, and sending people home when we're over-staffed
• Rotating products to maximize freshness and minimize food waste
• Cleaning, dusting, and organizing the merchandise and displays
• Preparing special orders and party trays
• Providing amazing customer service and jumping in to help other team members wherever needed
