Job description

Position Summary: The Lead Day Camp Counselor will monitor, lead, and control a group of children. This position will work with children, fellow counselors, and staff to provide a safe and meaningful summer day camp experience in a Christian environment.



Essential Responsibilities:



  • Provide leadership to a group of counselors

  • Supervise groups of campers ages 6-12

  • Be the responsible staff for all off-site activities. Duties include parking, paying admissions, collecting receipts, lunch arrangements, and disciplinary actions, as needed

  • Act as a liaison between the director and staff

  • Supervise the daily clean up of all areas used by day camp

  • Attend all staff meetings, programs, and planned activities

  • Pick up supplies as needed

  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications:



Education/Experience:



  • High School Diploma or GED, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities


Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:



Computer Skills:



  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365

  • Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint

  • Willingness to learn new software as needed


Certificates and Licenses:



  • Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed

  • Must have and maintain a current valid driver's license and pass the Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR)
