Job summary

V Group Inc. in Albany, NY is seeking a Lead Database Developer to support the Wadsworth ELAP program for the NYS Department of Health. Must have PowerBuilder experience of at least 7 years and strong Oracle/PL/SQL skills.

The role involves design reviews, reviewing data sets, building and testing new features, and documenting business rules as the legacy client-server applications migrate to a modern web-based version.

Qualifications

84 months of experience with coding client-server relational database applications using PowerBuilder.
84 months of experience with Oracle and PL/SQL. Experience should include creating tables, stored procedures, triggers, views, and other objects.
48 months experience with writing complex SQL queries and reports such as multiple JOINs, subqueries, conditional logic or windows functions; experience with data manipulation, data migration, and creation of ETL scripts.
48 Months as a lead developer on projects that included multiple developers working on the same project/component or had more than four developers on the team.

Responsibilities

Participate in design review sessions with the program area.
Review existing data sets and applications.
Modify and support the applications until they can be replaced with a modern web-based version.
Implement requirements by designing, coding, and testing new features.
Document code-based business rules.
