Job summary

Green Dot Corporation in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Senior Data Warehouse Developer to join a next-gen cloud data platform. The role focuses on building and optimizing large-scale data solutions and data pipelines.

You will lead ODS/EDW architectures, design data models, and implement ETL pipelines using Informatica, Databricks, and other cloud tools. The position is structured hybrid with three days in the office and flexibility to work remotely.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field preferred.
• 8+ years of overall software development experience with Data warehouse and BI applications.
• 8+ years of hands-on development in cloud-based data warehouse platforms (Azure/AWS Databricks, Redshift, Snowflake).
• 8+ years of experience with Informatica IDMC for data integration, quality and governance.

Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain the Operational data stores (ODS), Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and related environments.
• Design and implement scalable ETL pipelines using multiple tools with batch and real-time data streams.
• Develop reusable ingestion frameworks for structured and semi-structured data.
• Gather business and information requirements from product owners across units.
• Create data architecture diagrams and translate requirements into data models.
• Conduct design reviews and communicate artifacts with stakeholders.
• Create source-to-target mappings with multi-step transformations.
• Ensure database features are incorporated to optimize performance, resiliency, and scalability.
• Deliver proofs of concept for key technology components to stakeholders.
• Lead Master Data Management, Data Quality & Governance initiatives including data lineage.
• Work with project teams to deliver cloud data platform components.
• Troubleshoot data warehouse/ODS issues and production errors; handle critical incidents.
• Perform other duties including major new project initiatives.

Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior data warehouse developer of large-scale data solutions. You will join a team delivering a transformative next-gen cloud hosted data platform.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in implementing next-gen cloud data solutions and transformation pipelines for large scale organizations. We are seeking someone with deep technical skills in a variety of data warehouse related technologies to play an important role in developing and delivering early proofs of concept and production implementation. The successful candidate will have hands‑on experience in a multitude of data domains; including but not limited to; 24 x 7 x 365 enterprise and cloud data warehouse and reporting solutions and management, design and build data warehouse models, ETL development, performance tuning, service delivery, incident tracking, and change management.

Responsibilities

• Architecting and maintaining the Operational data stores (ODS), Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and associated data intelligence environments including data lakes, data marts, and metadata repositories
• Designing and implementing performance data movement pipelines using multiple ETL tools with batch and real-time event data streams (Informatica, Databricks, Apache Kafka, Azure Event Hub, SQL Packages, etc.)
• Developing scalable and re-usable frameworks for ingestion of structured and semi-structured data; and implementing various large-scale settlement and reconciliation frameworks
• Gathering business and information requirements from various product owners across various functional units
• Designing and creating data architecture and data flow diagrams and collaborating with peers to translate requirements into logical and physical data models.
• Conducting design review sessions and communicating design artifacts with stakeholders.
• Creating source to Target data mappings including multi step transformations
• Ensures database features and capabilities are incorporated into data model designs and ETL pipelines to optimize performance, resiliency, and scalability.
• Delivering and presenting proofs of concept to of key technology components to project stakeholders and internal technology leaders
• Developing scalable and re-usable frameworks for ingestion of structured and semi-structured data; and implementing various large-scale settlement and reconciliation frameworks
• Leading and coordinating the design and operationalization of Master Data Management, Data Quality & Data Governance initiatives including end to end data lineage
• Working with other members of the project team to support delivery of additional project components associated with cloud data platforms.
• Problem-solving of Data warehouse and ODS application issues and production errors, including high level critical production issues that require immediate attention.
• Perform other duties as assigned including major new project initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field preferred
• 8+ years of overall software development experience is required primarily with Data warehouse and Business Intelligence applications.
• 8+ years of hands‑on development experience in Cloud-based data warehouse platform – combination of Azure/AWS Databricks, AWS Redshift, Snowflake or similar
• 8+ years of development experience with Informatica IDMC platform including data integration, Data Quality, Data Governance

• 5+ years of hands‑on development experience with Relational DBs (MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.); experience with complex stored procedures and functions using SQL, optimization of SSIS packages and Redshift database queries.
• 5+ years of development experience with Python, windows batch scripting or Unix Shell scripting.
• Strong knowledge and experience in OLAP data modeling & design
• Demonstrated expertise in performance tuning in various DB environments with large volumes of data.
• Experience building and scaling distributed, high available systems in cloud env (Azure / AWS)

• Expertise in understanding complex business needs, analyzing, designing, and developing solutions.
• Communication and professional skills and the ability to navigate relationships across business units.

• Financial technology domain knowledge
• Knowledge of NoSQL DBs (MongoDB / Cassandra / Azure Cosmos DB or similar)
• Microsoft Azure Data Engineer or other cloud certifications

PAY RANGE

The targeted full-time base salary for this position is $139,900 to $199,300 per year. The final compensation will be determined by a number of factors such as qualifications, expertise, and the candidate’s geographical location.
