Job summary

Walmart Inc. is seeking a Principal Data Scientist in Sunnyvale, CA to drive innovation across the Search and Personalization stack. You will design and deploy ML models for search relevance, ranking, and recommendations, leading cross-functional teams and mentoring engineers.

You will lead model architectures, production deployments, and experiments to optimize KPIs, applying state‑of‑the‑art ML techniques and coordinating with ML engineers and platform teams.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in search ranking and personalization strategies.
• Experience deploying ML models at scale in production environments.
• Familiar with ML tooling and open-source frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead algorithmic innovations using DL, RL, and LLM-based techniques.
