Job summary

Target Data Sciences is seeking a Lead Data Scientist for Recommendations to drive ML models powering personalized guest experiences at scale. You will design, evaluate, and deploy systems that optimize retrieval, ranking and personalization across Target's digital experiences.

You will mentor teammates and influence technical direction in collaboration with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• PhD or MS in Computer Science, ML, Statistics or related field with 2+ years of industry experience.
• 5+ years of experience building ML solutions for recommendations, personalization, ranking or search.
• Experience with reinforcement learning and contextual bandits, and deploying production systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, evaluation and deployment of ML models for recommendations at scale.
• Mentor and develop other scientists, raise the technical bar, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Translate ambiguous business challenges into scalable ML solutions and measure impact.
• Influence technical direction and drive alignment with product, engineering and business stakeholders.
