Job summary

NextEra Energy Resources, LLC is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to lead development of algorithms, modeling techniques, and optimization methods across power generation assets, applying ML, statistics, and distributed computing.

You will partner with reliability engineers, equipment SMEs, and software teams to deliver production-ready analytics, deploy models in cloud environments, and mentor junior data scientists.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative, technical or engineering field.
• 6+ years of data science, analytics, or related experience.
• Experience with production deployments and cloud environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of diagnostic algorithms, predictive models, and analytics apps.
• Apply statistical methods to identify failure signatures and asset health trends.
• Translate methods into production-ready code, docs, and specs.
• Validate, back-test, deploy, monitor and improve analytics solutions.
• Support production data workflows, cloud deployment, and model migration.
• Collaborate with reliability engineers, SMEs, and software teams.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to data scientists.
