Job summary

Huntington is seeking a Lead Data Scientist with deep ML/NLP expertise to design, develop, and deploy AI models that accelerate innovation and strategic decision-making. The role spans end-to-end AI lifecycle across on-premises and AWS environments, requiring collaboration with Product Owners and senior leadership.

The ideal candidate has a PhD or Master’s in a related field and at least 3 years of AWS ML experience, with strong Python skills and hands-on work with LLMs, LangChain, and modern AI

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Data Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years related work experience in AWS cloud machine learning or a similar AI platform.
• Proficiency in Python (preferred) or R.
• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), LangChain, vector databases, embeddings, and prompt engineering.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Product Owner to manage the end-to-end AI development lifecycle—from requirements gathering and data sourcing to model deployment across on-premises and AWS environments.
• Demonstrate strong self-discipline and professional ownership in project activities and risk management to ensure timely delivery.
• Apply automation techniques to streamline manual processes and develop reusable, scalable self-service tools and assets.
• Stay current with emerging ML, cloud, and AI technologies and evaluate new capabilities for integration into workflows and products.
