Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Tampa seeks a Data Scientist Lead within Commercial & Investment Bank Healthcare Provider team to guide a group building advanced solutions for image classification, text categorization, and intelligent data extraction from scanned documents.

You will drive model development using Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face transformers, and AWS SageMaker/Bedrock, deploy on AWS EKS, and mentor teammates while shaping the full ML lifecycle from prototyping to production.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data science or quantitative analytics.
• At least 2+ years in document AI, computer vision, or NLP.
• Strong foundation in statistics, mathematics, and programming; proficient in Python.
• Experience deploying ML models on AWS SageMaker/Bedrock and production on AWS EKS.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of data scientists on analytics and modeling projects for image classification, text categorization, and document extraction.
• Define and drive the analytical strategy for document understanding use cases across CV, NLP, and multimodal approaches.
• Build and fine‑tune multimodal document understanding models; extract structured fields and key‑value pairs from scanned documents.
• Design rigorous experimentation, data quality frameworks, and annotation/training data management practices.
• Develop data prep workflows and select best models; collaborate with data/ML engineers for production pipelines on AWS EKS.
