Position Summary

The Clinical AI team is tasked with activating CVS Health's clinical data to improve outcomes across multiple lines of business and use cases. As a Lead Data Scientist, you will:

1. Be a subject matter expert in clinical data and how to apply it to solve health care problems.
2. Design, develop, validate, implement, and support predictive models and algorithms that investigate problem spaces, identify patterns, support decision-making processes, or anticipate outcomes.
3. Lead data scientists, data engineers, machine learning engineers, and product owners to design and implement analytics solutions.
4. Utilize natural language processing (NLP) and large language models (LLMs) to extract insights and features from unstructured clinical data.
5. Lead development of the clinical data feature store to accelerate adoption of future use cases utilizing clinical data.
6. Explore, validate, interpret, and summarize large amounts of data with various types/structures using advanced statistical and mathematical approaches.
7. Develop end-to-end analytics solutions, from developing problem statements to deploying models into production.
8. Build dashboards and data visualizations to effectively communicate analysis results and support decision-making processes.
9. Translate problem statements from business partners into conceptual solutions, analyze feasibility, and estimate work efforts for analytical use cases early in their lifecycle.
10. Create documentation of project details, including problem statements, business outcomes, data exploration, ML model details, and deployment/support instructions.
11. Develop and lead presentations and consultations to existing and prospective stakeholders on analytics opportunities, results, and solutions.
12. Provide technical coaching and development to data scientists.
13. Foster a team culture of innovation and collaboration.

Required Qualifications

1. 7+ years of relevant analytics experience.
2. Experience solving analytics problems using advanced statistics, machine learning, and mathematical algorithms.
3. Experience leading analytics projects from concept to delivery by coordinating across a diverse set of stakeholders.
4. Experience using natural language processing (NLP), large language models (LLMs), and Generative AI (Gen AI) to extract insights from text data.
5. Experience using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) tools, including BigQuery, Vertex AI, DataProc, and Cloud Composer to implement scalable analytics solutions.
6. Ability to anticipate and prevent roadblocks throughout a project lifecycle and drive resolution/mitigation.
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting complex ideas to various audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience solving analytics problems in the healthcare domain using clinical data.

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or related discipline. Master's degree preferred.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is: $106,605.00 - $284,280.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or full-time salary. The actual offer depends on experience, education, geography, and other factors. The position is eligible for bonuses, incentives, and equity awards.
