Job summary

Walmart Connect is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to lead the design and development of its next-generation ads incrementality measurement platform. You will own the methodology end-to-end, partnering with engineering and product to carry solutions into production.

You will advance causal inference and experimentation, drive the roadmap, mentor scientists, and present findings to senior leadership, setting the bar for rigorous, causally grounded measurement in Walmart's advertising ecosystem.

Qualifications

• PhD strongly preferred in a quantitative field
• 5+ years in data science or quantitative research
• Deep expertise in causal inference and incrementality
• Strong experiment design at scale (power, interference, bias correction)
• Proficiency in Python/SQL and distributed data platforms

Responsibilities

• Design and implement large-scale causal inference methods to measure incremental lift across campaigns and channels
• Establish evaluation frameworks and readiness criteria for causal methods
• Author technical design documents and present to senior leadership
• Define the science roadmap for incrementality and causal measurement
• Develop event-grain incrementality models (Uplift DNN) for bidding decisions
• Collaborate with engineers to design data pipelines meeting precision needs
• Mentor senior and mid-level scientists
