Job summary

Walmart Connect is seeking a Distinguished Data Scientist to lead the next-generation ads incrementality measurement platform. You will own the entire methodology, from design to production, and serve as the authority on rigorous causal measurement in Walmart Connect.

You will design, implement, and validate large-scale causal inference methods, mentor scientists, and shape the science roadmap for incrementality in ads. This role is based in Sunnyvale, CA, with a focus on high-impact analytics.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master's in statistics, economics, analytics, CS, or related field preferred.
• 8+ years in data science or analytics; ads experience preferred.
• Strong causal inference and incrementality expertise required.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement large-scale causal inference methodologies to measure true incremental lift of ads.
• Establish evaluation frameworks, exit criteria and solution readiness standards for causal methods.
• Author technical design documents and whitepapers; present to senior leadership.
• Define the science roadmap for incrementality and causal measurement; prioritize high-leverage problems.
• Develop event-grain incrementality models (Uplift DNN) to power ads bidding optimization.
• Partner with engineers to design data pipelines and schemas meeting precision needs.
• Mentor senior/mid-level scientists; develop technical vision and strategy.
