Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead the science strategy for AI-first security tooling. You will define modeling approaches, set success metrics, and own ambiguous problems from framing to production.

You’ll collaborate with engineers, scientists, security researchers, and PMs to shape roadmaps and raise the bar for AI across multi-cloud environments. You’ll mentor building teams, advocate agentic development practices, and drive rapid prototyping to production

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data querying languages and scripting experience (SQL, Python, R, SAS)
• 4+ years of data scientist experience
• Experience with statistical models and production ML deployments
• Experience defining roadmap strategy and prioritizing deliverables
• Experience handling ambiguous or undefined challenges with strong problem-solving abilities
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, CS, math or related field
• Experience leading ML model deployment in production
• Experience with AI-assisted or agentic coding practices

Responsibilities

• Set the science direction for product areas including modeling strategy and success metrics
• Own the hardest, most ambiguous problems and frame the approach
• Drive AI tooling adoption and establish scalable science practices
• Architect agentic intelligence and evaluation frameworks for multi-cloud security
• Influence roadmaps and align cross-functional partners around a scientific vision
• Prototype, validate, and scale hypotheses to production at Amazon scale
• Communicate modeling trade-offs clearly to engineers, leaders, and executives
• Mentor scientists and shape the science culture and hiring bar
