Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to build analytical solutions informing core business processes. You will design, execute, and synthesize analytics, leveraging statistics, ML, and data visualization to answer critical questions.

You will partner with business units to scope projects, assemble data, apply advanced modeling, and deliver insights with production-ready deliverables. Strong communication and mentoring are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer and Information Science, Engineering Technology or related field OR Bachelor’s Degree + 3 years of relevant work experience
• 5 years of Data Science experience
• 3 years Data Science experience if PhD
• Strong analytical and statistical skills
• Experience delivering analytical solutions end-to-end

Responsibilities

• Work with the business to understand processes and aims, identifying analytical solutions to deliver value
• Outline complex new use cases and provide high level impact estimates
• Identify data elements and sources; assemble datasets
• Deliver analytical solutions to multiple business problems on production-ready timelines
• Apply advanced modeling and ML techniques; ensure rigor and documentation
• Translate results for non-technical audiences via reports and visuals
• Lead and coordinate multiple analyses independently and on schedule
• Mentor others and contribute to ED&A project portfolio
