Lead Data Scientist

As our Lead Data Scientist, you will act as an internal business consultant to help optimize various facets of our organization. You will solve problems and answer questions using data for other departments, aiming to reduce costs, errors, and improve our services for our 17 million members.

What You’ll Do

1. Help solve business problems presented by stakeholders using data. For example, analyzing scenarios like reducing cycle times by pulling, analyzing, and interpreting relevant data.

2. Pull data from SQL databases, analyze and interpret data using Python, R, or other tools. Identify patterns or trends and assess their statistical significance. Visualize data using Tableau.

3. Present findings to stakeholders after analysis, working with data engineers. Your work may lead to implementation or further development. This role is remote, but requires regular reporting to the Independence, OH office.

What You’ll Need

1. Strong foundation in statistics and data analysis, with experience in pulling data, analyzing it, identifying trends, and delivering insights. Be prepared to discuss your approach, tools used, and your role at each stage.

2. Proficiency in SQL is required. For data analysis, familiarity with Python or R is essential. You may also use Excel, but proficiency in either Python or R is mandatory.

3. Excellent communication skills and flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements. Ability to explain technical decisions clearly to less technical stakeholders is crucial.

4. Experience working with Agile teams, participating in daily standups, sprints, and meeting deployment deadlines.

The starting pay range for this position is $142,300 - $189,200.

Full-time employees are eligible for an incentive program based on organizational, team, and personal performance.
