Job summary

GEICO is seeking a senior data scientist position focused on statistical modeling and business analytics. The role involves developing methods to ensure data validity and applying modeling techniques to solve complex business questions.

You will design sampling strategies, build predictive models, and guide analysts in updating reports and data pulls. Collaboration across teams will be essential, with a hybrid work policy requiring 3 days in-office and 2 days remote.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field; seven years of related experience.
• Master’s degree accepted with five years of related experience.
• Experience with SAS, SQL, R, Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, charts).
• Knowledge of insurance rating products and underwriting processes.
• Ability to lead data analysis and deliver actionable insights.

Responsibilities

• Develop statistical methods and procedures to ensure data validity, applicability, efficiency, and accuracy.
• Design and develop data sampling techniques and statistical methods to solve business and technical problems.
• Develop and manage software applications for statistical modeling and graphic analysis.
• Manage analysts in updating predictive models, reports, or data pulls.
• Draw insights and make recommendations based on assigned analysis.
