Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst with data protection and cybersecurity experience to support enterprise security programs in data governance, privacy, and compliance across the organization.

You will translate requirements for security solutions, collaborate with stakeholders, and help ensure regulatory alignment while driving risk-based improvements in controls and processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in Data Protection, Cybersecurity, Risk, or Compliance domains.
• Strong understanding of data protection principles, DLP policies, and information security fundamentals.
• Experience with data security tools like Symantec DLP, Microsoft Purview, Zscaler, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business and security requirements with stakeholders.
• Support data protection solution implementation and enhancements.
• Develop and execute test cases to validate data protection policies.
• Collaborate across teams to improve processes, security outcomes.
• Map data protection requirements to governance and compliance obligations.
• Validate designs and ensure deployment aligns with business needs.
• Monitor and report key metrics for data protection controls.
• Assist in audit readiness through documentation and evidence collection.
• Partner with Cyber Security Engineering teams on enterprise data protection initiatives.
