Marlabs is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to design, build, and manage the organization’s modern data platform, enabling analytics, reporting, and AI-driven initiatives. You will lead enterprise data pipelines, governance, and collaboration with AI/ML teams.

The ideal candidate has deep expertise in data engineering, cloud-native solutions, and strong focus on reliability, observability, and regulatory compliance while scaling data products across functions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Data Engineering with end-to-end data ingestion, transformation, storage and analytics.
• Experience leading large-scale data initiatives.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with data modeling and performance optimization.
• Hands-on with lakehouse architectures and cloud-native data solutions.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable lakehouse architectures and enterprise data platforms.
• Develop and manage secure data ingestion: CDC, batch, API, file-based.
• Create data models, semantic layers, governed metrics.
• Implement data quality, observability, monitoring for pipelines.
• Collaborate with AI/ML, platform engineering, and security teams to deliver governed data products.
• Establish data governance standards, lineage, data contracts, and access controls.
