Job summary

Amazon Ads seeks a data-focused software engineer to build foundational infrastructure for massive log-level advertising data. You will own end-to-end data pipelines, ETL workflows, APIs for analytics teams, and data quality monitoring, collaborating with senior engineers to shape architecture and resolve production issues.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience of new and existing systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain scalable data pipelines to ingest, process, and store petabyte-scale log-level advertising data from multiple sources.
• Build ETL workflows that transform raw event-level data into queryable formats.
• Create and maintain APIs for analytics teams and data scientists to query data.
• Implement data quality checks, validation logic, and monitoring for data pipelines and services.
• Optimize performance and cost efficiency of data processing jobs and queries.
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
• Collaborate with senior engineers on design discussions and architectural decisions.
• Debug and resolve production issues, participating in on-call rotations.
• Document systems, processes, and runbooks to support operational excellence.
